It is an essential responsibility of all recruiters to remain updated on the latest developments in public policies regarding recruiting and employment. This September, over ten state legislatures were in session. During this period, over fifty labor and employment bills were considered in states across the country, many of which are now awaiting executive approval.
While proposals concerning time-off (particularly changes to parental and sick leave policies) are receiving the most attention, bills regarding salary history, pay equity, discrimination, harassment, predictive scheduling, background checks, privacy, right-to-work, wage theft and more were also passed.
